Blue Zones are five areas in the world where many centenarians live.
Okinawa is one of them, and research on blue zones has suggested 9 rules for health and longevity.
Our association aims to apply these findings to the Yaeyama region
and promote the health and rich lives of local residents.

Program

Our mission is to clearly define the blue zone values of the Yaeyama region and share and disseminate those values together with local businesses and residents.
We also contribute to the local community by utilizing Yaeyama's tourism resources, nature, agricultural, forestry and fishery products, and traditional food culture that promotes health and longevity.

Okinawa is the only Blue Zone region in Asia.
Okinawa is a region with a beautiful natural environment and people who have survived harsh times with resilience and aged gracefully.

It is the people who embody this healthy and vibrant way of life that are the region's most attractive resource, and its nature, history, and culture are not simply tourist attractions; it is a unique place that can provide new value as "wellness and longevity resources."
