Have you ever heard of the term “Blue Zones”?
Have you ever heard of the term “Blue Zones”?
Blue Zones are areas of the world with an unusually high number of 100-year-olds who live
independently. There are five known Blue Zones in the world (Okinawa, Japan is one of
them), and their reportage has attracted so much attention that it became a bestseller in the
U.S. (*).
But it is not just their longevity that is attracting attention.
The reason is that, although these five places are very different countries, regions, and
lifestyles, we have discovered certain common rules of life that enable them to continue to
have a zest for life and truly enjoy their rich lives even after they reach 100 years of age.
In the book Blue Zones, we advocate these nine rules. The lifestyle we learn from these
rules will make our lives richer and happier.
We are about to launch a program i to have people experience the lifestyle of Ishigaki
Island, Okinawa, learning from the Blue Zones.
